1.)boston music hall 12.1.73 the UJB has the most beautiful intro with jerry just showing off how exceptionally fluid he can be, great noisey outro jam back>playin'.
2.)boston tea party 12.31.69 killer mason's children with really good vox.
3.)veneta,or. ren fair grounds 8.27.72 um, um , it's all good? yes! all of this show is great. oh, what's that? you already know? ok fine. one of the great things about these tapes is the slap reverb on the vox and i think on all. i'm guessing it was caused by relay towers (anyone?) as most of you surely know killer dark star>el paso and THE sing me back home. and one of jerry's most blistering rips into the solo on bertha i've heard. insane.

I've been on a re-appreciation mission for Dick's Picks, so the last 3 shows I've listened to have been:

11/5/77, Rochester, NY. So many great versions of EYES in '77...this has one of them, but what really kicks about it is the way it segues flawlessly into a rock-solid SAMSON.

2/3 and 2/5/78...ESTIMATED>EYES, and very hot SCARLET>FIRE

12/26/79, Oakland...Can't get enough of that UJB. Only 10/12/84 comes close (and does beat it by a hair.)

06-08-77
06-09-77

Before that

02-03-79
02-03-78

You are wrong...

You obviously didnt bother listening to the show either.

You really should take the trouble of listening before chiming in!

Besides, its an excellent show, great performance of Dancin' in the Streets! But this is all just one set. No acoustic set was played on 4/12/70...

I did listen to it.

They are either using acoustic guitars with what sounds like piezo acoustic pickups or hollow body electrics such as Gibson L5 or ES150, instead of hollow body acoustics miked. It is definitely not a Strat that Jerry was playing at the time.

Deadlists.com cites a circulating, mislabled 4-9-70. Maybe this is where the confusion comes from?

Setlist.com and deadbase are both incorrect

No acoustic music was played

Deadred didn't bother listening to the show, Loogy obviosly didn't listen either...

A pleasing Dire Wolf. Bob's slide/hammer-on chords sound great. But, alas, it's still all electric. Except for the tamborine. ;)

Much as it pains me to agree with Dennis-the-troll, that sounds very much like a Fender Stratocaster to me.

Have you considered either having your ears syringed or buying a new sound system ?

1. 2/2/68 (inspired by a thread the other day started by Cliff or Tell or one of the '68 champions, and glad I went this route- amazing show!!)

2. 2/3/68 (one thing obviously led to another...toss in 2/14 and the DP 22 material and you're looking at an absolutely scalding month...)

3. 11/14/72 (didn't listen to the whole thing but did take in the core of the second set)
